“‘Nothing About Us Without Us’: Storytelling as a Method for Community Organizing” (Spring 2024) was created and co-taught by Dr. Daniel Cumming, Tonika Berkley, Jeneanne Collins, and Edna Manns-Lake. The course was supported by Johns Hopkins University’s Center for Social Concern, Center for Africana Studies, and Chloe Center for the Critical Study of Racism, Immigration, and Colonialism. The original project that inspired the course was Inheritance Baltimore: Humanities and Arts Education for Black Liberation (2021-2024), a reparations-based program aimed at transforming the relationship between Johns Hopkins University and Black Baltimore.
